Hi all,
My name is Tony and I also live in Sweden (Stockholm). I am not new to this site at all, I've been posting here since the early days, but I have never introduced myself properly.
I'm actually 50% Russian and have lived in Moscow in the 80s. I have also lived in Saint Petersburg, Novgorod the Great, Nal'chik, Havana and Miami.
My first exposure to Russian Metal was a concert of Aria in Moscow in the late 80s. They were playing at some festival with bands from other Socialist countries like Vietnam, Mongolia, Cuba, Romania, Hungary, Poland and East Germany. That night there was a German Metal band playing but I don't remember their name. I was just a kid. Any suggestions?
By the way, from this thread I'm friends with Dan (The Corroseum) & Axel (Palach).
I have many Russian favorites: old Korrozia Metalla, Aria, Magnit/Credo, Konsul, Aspid, Falanga, Dubl'-1, Oblachnyj Kraj, Kantor, Front, Kremator, Varvar, Black Obelisk, Black Coffee, Diplom, Kruiz, 99%, old Kruger, Kapella, Princip... You get the picture. Also, I love Siberian Punk like GrOb, Manager, Yanka, Chernyj Lukich and many others. And of course I love Kino, DDT, Nautilius and other classic stuff.
From the international bands I like: Törr, Sarcofago, Manilla Road, Master's Hammer, Hawkwind, Judas Priest, Brocas Helm, Bathory, Omen, Manowar, Pokolgep, Pentagram, Ironsword, Celtic Frost, Vulcano, Mortuary Drape, Sabbat (Japan), Parabellum, Death SS, Rotting Chirst, Seikima-II and sooo many other.
Also 60s and 70s bands rule!
Good to be here!
